All members are signatory with Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 486 and have completed the application process. Industry Fund contributors are contractors who are signatory with Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 486 but have not made application for membership in the Mechanical Contractors Association of Maryland, Inc.

Associate Members are corporations, firms or individuals who are interested in the industry but who are not otherwise qualified for active membership. Associate Membership includes manufacturers and suppliers of mechanical equipment and accessories, the banking, insurance and legal communities and suppliers of other goods and services to mechanical contractors.

The MCA of Maryland is governed by a Board of Directors which meets monthly. The Association sponsors six general dinner meetings each year in the months of February, April, June, September, October and December. The February meeting is a product and services show which features the Associate Members. The December meeting is a holiday reception for the membership and invited guests. The MCA of Maryland sponsors three educational seminars for the membership each year. In May, the Association presents its Spring Dinner Dance.

The MCA of Maryland is affiliated with the Mechanical Contractors Association of America which was founded in 1899 and includes 2000 mechanical contracting and service firms. The MCA of Maryland also provides its members with membership and benefits thereof in the Mechanical Contractors Association of America.

The Delmarva Mechanical Contractors Association is a chapter of the Mechanical Contractors Association of Maryland, Inc. Members of the Delmarva MCA are signatory with Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 782 and work within the jurisdiction of that local union in Delaware, Maryland and Virginia. The MCA of Maryland, Inc. is also a partner in and cooperates closely with The COUNT Program, Contractors and Unions Together, a nationally recognized labor-management organization which fosters the highest levels of training, craftsmanship and productivity in the mechanical contracting industry.
